Botanical Name: Acer saccharum

Hard maple has a fine, uniform texture and the sapwood of maples is commonly white with a slight reddish-brown tinge; the heartwood is light reddish brown, but sometimes is considerably darker. Maple species tend to grow in the North America and spefically in the Northeast, the Pacific Northwest and the Deep South.
