LACEWOOD Botanical Name: Roupala brasiliense of the family Proteaceae Light pink to silvery sheen with small flaky grain due to the large rays. Attractive pattern when used in small areas. Fairly light in weight, machines very well with both hand and power tools. Lacewood is a somewhat splintery wood, best known for the very highly distinctive, large, ray flakes that occur in quartersawn cuts. |
